He knew we liked our chicken fried. He also knew we preferred our toes in the water and ass in the sand. “Whatever it is,” Zac Brown and his insanely talented band had it and we were drinking the Kool-Aid. But even after churning out hit after hit after incredibly heartfelt or toe-tapping fun hit, the music of Zac Brown Band is only one small reason why we love this band.

When it comes to having a commitment to those who serve in our nation’s military, Zac Brown Band’s is unwavering. They’re involvement with the USO began almost as soon as “Chicken Fried” became a smash, and it hasn’t diminished in the nearly 10 years that followed. To hear Zac himself speak about the United States service personnel is to witness incredible respect and awe. It will just about bring tears to your eyes.

Sure, we loved Zac Brown Band’s music first, and it is certainly one of the Top 5 reasons we can’t get enough of this amazing group of artists, but there are more, and Erin Holt counts them up in this Rare Country’s 5. Be sure to tell us what you love most about Zac and the boys in the comments.
