Revisit some of country music’s ultimate road trip songs before summer’s over Rare Country
Rare Country

We’re way deep into July and it’s time to start squeezing in those last minute road trips before the kiddies head back to school. We don’t know about you, but nothing makes the miles pass faster for us than a foot-stomping country road trip playlist. If you don’t have one, take a peek at ours. Oh, and be careful not to stomp on that accelerator.

One of our favorite road trippin’ songs is Keith Urban’s “Days Go By.” The whole song cleverly draws comparisons to driving and the passing of time, and the super groovy arrangement really does make us want to put our “hand out the window in the wind.” While none of us can put the brakes on time, great beats like Keith’s sure make the journey a lot more fun.

And seriously? What road-trippin’ playlist would be complete without the Willie Nelson classic “On the Road Again?” Even people who only know Willie as the guy with braids somehow know at least the chorus of this iconic tune, which has quite a history. Willie penned “On the Road Again” for the movie “Honeysuckle Rose,” which he also starred in. The movie is about … get this … a touring musician! No wonder he was perfect for the role.

We have so many great road trip songs, we could drive across Texas and never repeat one! Check out Rare Country’s 5 to see what a few more of ours are, and be sure to share your favorite in the comments. We can always use one more, you know?
