We’ve never heard an unkind word about Keith Urban, but why would we? He’s one of the most beloved members of the country music community. Known as much for his thoughtful and warm personality as he is for his good looks and insane talent, Keith is favorite among his peers, the  industry, the media and, of course, his great fans. We have so many reasons that we love Keith Urban, we could start listing them right now and not end until next week, but we’ve narrowed it down to just five things … because our boss made us.

One of the things we love most about Keith is as obvious as the sparkle in his eyes. It’s the masterful way he shreds on guitar. Country music is fortunate to have a lot of great players, but even they are dazzled by this incredible musician’s pickin’ prowess. Keith is responsible for creating guitar riffs that make his songs recognizable after just a few notes. And while a six string is the main tool of his trade, the reality is that he’s a multi-instrumentalist who can also play piano, banjo and didgeridoo. Yep …didgeridoo. It’s an Aussie thing.

If you ever watched Keith on “American Idol,” you know that while he was sensitive and thoughtful with the competitors, he was also very gently honest. Perhaps it’s because he’s been so honest with himself and with his fans when it comes to his own struggles and challenges. Fortunately, he responsibly dealt with his issues and it has made him an amazing example of strength and resilience, as well as proving the incredible power of love.

Take a look at this week’s Rare Country’s 5 to see the other things we love so much about Keith Urban, and don’t forget to tell us what you find so magical about the man from down under. We’re betting that y’all can help us make that list even longer.
