If it gets any hotter this summer, we may just ignite, and that’s just the temperatures outside. Country music has been generating a fair amount of heat this week, too, as all of our favorites have shared great performances, big news and some insight into their personal struggles like only country stars will do.

We’re clinging to those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer as hard as we can, but there’s still plenty of time for week long trips and weekend dips. Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani show us you don’t need a tropical paradise to enjoy a break from the grind. This sweet couple, who are charming the world, took a family vacation right in Oklahoma. Of course, they spent plenty of time swimming and fishing, likely on Lake Texoma, but they also squeezed in an educational visit to the Chickasaw Cultural Center in Sulphur. And boy did they have a blast!

Blake and Gwen weren’t the only ones opening up their personal lives on social media. Kacey Musgraves revealed that she suffers from a malady that, sadly, affects many other women—polycystic ovary syndrome, or PCOS. And as only this incredibly authentic artist can do, she commiserated and empathized with her fellow sufferers, humbly seeking their advice for alleviating some of the symptoms of the condition. We hope she’s feeling better now.

Blake and Gwen, Kacey, Kenny and Dolly, Miranda and Chris Stapleton, and one of Tim McGraw’s most talented fans kept the heat factor up this week in country music. Erin Holt has our biggest stories in this week’s Rare Country’s 5, so grab a cold drink and some shade and check out that video.
