Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers Announce Tour

Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers are runnin’ down the dream again with a tour this summer. The cross-country North American tour will include stops at festivals, arenas, and amphitheaters.

Petty will be headlining Bonnaroo, Hangout, and Firefly music festivals. The band will also stop in for a couple of multi-show residencies at the Beacon Theater in New York City and the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles. This harkens back to years past when they played a series of 20 shows at San Francisco’s Fillmore and completed a 5-day streak at Chicago’s Vic Theatre in 2003.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will take a hiatus from recording the follow-up album to their 2010 release Mojo for the 21-date tour. The new album, still untitled, will be released on Reprise Records in 2014.

Members of the band’s Highway Companion Club will be afforded some special opportunities for purchasing tickets to concerts on the summer tour. They’ll gain access to presales and exclusive ticket lotteries for the New York and Los Angeles string of shows. There will also be premium ticket packages available through the band’s website, which will included premium seating and band merchandise.
