RaeLynn dazzled the crowd at the first-ever Rare Country Awards live concert event in Nashville to close out 2017. It was a banner year for the country newcomer as she released her debut album, “WildHorse,” to great acclaim from fans and critics alike. During our Dec. 14 show, she delivered a commanding performance of her latest heartbreaking single, “Lonely Call.”
The crowd was also on their feet for her second selection, “God Made Girls.” More than 34 million fans have watched the video for “God Made Girls” on YouTube, so it was definitely an audience favorite.
Over the past few years, RaeLynn has become one of country music’s most fashionable stars, and she didn’t disappoint at the Rare Country Awards. The dark blue beaded dress she rocked onstage added some real glamour to the show.
It’s all an effort to put on the best show possible for the fans, who honored RaeLynn with a nomination for New Artist of the Year at this year’s Rare Country Awards.
She told us before the show kicked off, “Anything that’s fan-driven is one of my favorites because you’re hearing from the people that give us the job that we have. We would not be here without our fans. So, to be nominated is such an honor, and to be here is so much fun. Anytime I get to sing and have a good time, I’m excited to be here.”
While everyone in the audience for the show had a great time watching RaeLynn, she was also focused on making sure the fans watching her on our livestream got a great show, too. It’s not easy to perform for a camera, so we asked RaeLynn how she makes sure to engage the folks watching at home.
“I just think about — especially if there’s nobody in front of me — I just think about their being people in front of me,” RaeLynn explains. “It’s hard. I’ve done a few things where you know that somebody’s going to watch you on their TV, but there’s nobody in there. You just have to think, ‘OK, I’ve gotta entertain them no matter if there’s just camera people around.’ So, it’s just kind of a mindset you have to get in. You’ve got to look in that camera and speak to the people!”
You certainly spoke to our fans with these performances, RaeLynn!
