Dan + Shay enjoy a year full of wins and weddings

Dan + Shay’s star continues to rise. They got their third consecutive No. 1 single in 2017 with the catchy “How Not To,” kept their audience obsessed with an epic headlining tour and keep racking up those awards nominations!

Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney met at a party in late 2012 and set their first songwriting appointment for the next day. The creative collaboration clicked with Shay’s soulful lead vocals and Dan’s smart co-productions. The first song they ever wrote together got put on hold for Rascal Flatts and, within two months, the duo had multiple publishing offers and signed with Warner/Chappell Music.

Nearly five years later, the artistic chemistry has earned the duo numerous award nominations, and three straight No. 1 singles on “Billboard’s” Country Airplay chart, plus two platinum singles and a gold certification from the RIAA. The charismatic pair are wrapping the year by taking their cosmopolitan country sound overseas with an international tour that includes concerts in the U.K. Ireland, Germany and the Netherlands.

Their personal lives also soared this year. In May, Dan wed longtime girlfriend Abby Law and their rescue dogs —Chief, Joy, and foster-turned-adoptee Ghost — were all part of the ceremony. Shay and fianceé Hannah Billingsley welcomed a baby in January and tied the knot in October at his family’s farm in Arkansas.
