When it comes to bona fide country stars, George Strait is one of the greats! We doubt there’s a single country singer, male or female, who can’t sing at least one of his songs front-to-back in its entirety, and most can sing an album’s worth of the Texans hits.

Now, follow along. We’ve come to expect Tim McGraw to do his backstage concerts with whomever is opening that weekend’s shows of his Soul2Soul The World Tour. If you haven’t watched the videos before, you should check them out. They’re pretty amazing.

Back in September, the Lone Star State’s long, tall mega-hit songwriter, Eric Paslay, was that opening act. In a nod to his Texas roots and Tim’s love of straight up (or should we say, Strait up country), the pair went way back to 1981 for an impromptu cover of George Strait’s “Unwound.”

Tim shared video of the performance on his Facebook page and it is beyond epic — epic on a variety of levels.

Seriously, y’all. From those thick Ace In the Hole Band-type harmonies to Tim two-stepping around the room, this performance reminds us of all that is good in country music, including great singer-songwriters like Eric and Tim. And how about that sick fiddle!

Anybody else overcome with the need to dance? Just us? We’re cool with that.

Heck, whether we liked it or not, which we did, Tim sure loved it, pumping his fist in the air before he declares, “King George! Eric Paslay just kicked ass.”

Indeed, he did!
