If you don’t yet know April Kry, you’re about to.

The Connecticut native is a relative newcomer on the country music scene, but if this Chris Stapleton cover is any indicator, she could be the next big thing.

The talented singer takes on Chris’ monster ballad, “Fire Away,” a song about an emotional battle between two lovers. It’s powerful, poignant and heart-wrenching.

It’s a big undertaking, tackling a song Chris has his stamp on. If you’re gonna sing this one, you’ve gotta have soul.

And April does in spades. There’s so much power coming out of her tiny frame!

And so do the Dames, featured on incredible backing vocals.

The video was filmed at West Light Studios in Franklin, Tennessee, and is part of April’s #KrySesh series, an appropriate label for this song and performance.
