It’s hard to believe that Pistol Annies’ Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley haven’t released any new music in almost five years. Their debut album, “Hell On Heels,” came out in August of 2011 and the follow-up, “Annie Up,” came out in early May 2013. And even though they haven’t scored a coveted No. 1 single yet, their debut album has been certified gold and the single, “Hell on Heels,” has sold more than a million copies.
Who’s ready for some new Pistol Annies’ tunes? We sure are!
And maybe Miranda, Ashley and Angaleena are, too.
Rare Country previously reported that Miranda and Ashley reunited at Ran’s March 1 “Livin’ Like Hippes Tour” stop in Knoxville, Tennessee, but they got Angaleena out with them for the tour stops in Ohio and Kentucky over the weekend and, from the sound of it, it would also seem that quite a few fans are ready for some new Pistol Annies’ music,.
The girls sang a couple of their songs together, including “Takin’ Pills,” and “Hell on Heels,” and it doesn’t sound like the roar of the crowd stopped the entire time they performed.
Now, just because Hippie, Holler and Lone Star Annie haven’t been on the road or in the studio together lately doesn’t mean that they haven’t all been busy as heck! Angaleena released her critically acclaimed second album, “Wrangled,” in 2017 and has been touring around the U.S. and in the U.K. In addition to giving birth to her baby boy, Dalton, last August, Ashley just released the new single, “Hands on You,” from her next solo album, “Sparrow,” due out April 20.
Miranda has been working so hard she’s a blur! She released her award-winning double-disc, “The Weight Of These Wings” in 2016, then headlined her own “Keeper of the Flame Tour,” before heading out the same year to tour with Kenny Chesney. In 2017, she headlined the insanely successful “Highway Vagabond Tour” and when 2018 wraps, she’ll have conquered two tours: “Livin’ Like Hippies” and “The Bandwagon Tour” with Little Big Town.
And, as if that weren’t enough, the beautiful Texas talent has also hinted that she might be writing songs for a new Pistol Annies’ project.
That’s music to our ears!
But her hashtag did only say “maybe.” So, is she writing new songs for Pistol Annies? And will they go on tour together again in 2019?
