So, this is what Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood do when their singing partner, Hillary Scott, is at home with her newborn twins.

Wow.

The guys broke out their pink leisure suits, eyeliner and really gnarly wigs to take on their alternate personas as the band Dick Fantastic & the 4-Skins on Feb. 14. The backstory goes that Dick and company were exiled to Cuba in the mid-’80s and a bunch of artists stole their songs and turned them into hits. They made a triumphant return to the stage at Nashville’s 3rd and Lindsley for a Valentine’s Day celebration.

Here we have Charles, er, Dick, belting out a song that Celine Dion allegedly stole from them, “My Heart Will Go On” from “Titanic.”

He’s so overcome with emotion at the beginning of the song that he can’t get the words out. OK, Charles really can’t stop laughing, but that’s not the point. It’s a tender moment all the same.

The bubble machine is in full force as Charles and the crowd take this tender moment to new heights with a sing-along. Dave is also killing it playing the electric whistle.

Seriously, if you can get past how ridiculous they all look, it is actually a very strong performance.

The hits kept coming throughout the night, with Dave taking a step out in the spotlight covering Coolio’s mid-’90s rap jam “Gangsta’s Paradise.”

Who knew Dave could spit rhymes like that?

Here’s a closer look at the belt buckle drum machine Dave was wearing for this once-in-a-lifetime performance.

Getting turned on for the night….

Their cover of Bryan Adams’ “Heaven” was a real crowd-pleaser.

The ladies were all swooning as Charles laid it on thick with Michael Bolton’s 1989 love anthem, “Soul Provider,” as well.

The room really heated up when Charles broke out Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On.”

The guys made up merchandise for the special occasion, too.

DICK PICK #1

This isn’t the first time Dick Fantastic has musically assaulted Nashville with its smooth sounds. The guys first got the band together when Hillary was at home following daughter Eisele’s birth a few years ago.

Here’s a picture of their look at that show.

Don’t worry. Hillary is coming back very soon, so this will most likely be the last we see of Dick Fantastic for some time. She’s slated to hit the road again when Lady A and Darius Rucker head out on the “Summer Plays On Tour” with Russell Dickerson. The trek starts in July, and Charles tells Rare Country they’re ready to get back out there and share the music from their latest Grammy-nominated album, “Heart Break.”

He says, “[Hillary is] ready to come back and rock and roll. Everybody’s got their eye on the prize to keep pushing this music. We feel really proud of it. We’ve got several more singles we want to put out on it.”
