One of the many reasons why we love Miranda Lambert and her boyfriend Anderson East is that they both share a love for music.
In fact, they’ve paired up onstage on many different occasions. This time, though, the Texas beauty’s Alabama-born beau has teamed up with two other musicians for a tribute to the late Don Williams, who passed away on Sept. 8.
In this video, a part of Ram Trucks’ “Long Live The Storytellers” series, Anderson combines his musical talents with musician Brent Cobb and his cousin, award-winning producer Dave Cobb. Together, the three perform a raw and uplifting version of Don’s “Come Early Morning.”
Shot inside Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A, the clip shows the trio armed with acoustic guitars. Brent and Anderson take turns showcasing their vocals on the tune, while Dave offers his support on his instrument. At the end of the clip, the words “In Memory of the Gentle Giant” flash across the screen.
“We didn’t really know what we wanted to do, but it just so happened a song came across and Don had just passed away,” Brent explains in the video. “I think if anybody is a true storyteller, I mean, that joker can tell a story, you know.”
“And I think he always just makes you feel happy,” Anderson adds of Don.
Anderson is slated to release his sophomore album, “Encore” on Jan. 12, 2018. The album, produced by Dave, features Anderson’s recent sultry single, “All On My Mind.” Dave also produced Brent’s current “Shine On Rainy Day” album. Watch the video above to see the trio perform “Come Early Morning.”
