For as long as we have known Miranda Lambert, we have known that the girl has guts. She doesn’t hold back from saying what she feels, and she knows how to get her point across while still looking sweet and a tad sassy.
She has also always known how to throw a little bit of friendly shade. And she knew how to do it long before “shade” was even a thing.
Of course, fans can’t get enough of Miranda’s sass, especially when she throws a little of it into her live show. During her kickoff show of her 24-city 2018 “Livin’ Like Hippies Tour,” Miranda tore into the song “Little Red Wagon,” much to the audience’s delight. About halfway through, the country superstar threw in an impromptu “I got the hell out of Oklahoma!” to replace the mid-song lyric “I live in Oklahoma.”
And yes, the crowd went wild, as they seemed to pick up on the fact that the words might have been a little dig at the state that her ex-husband, Blake Shelton, calls home and the state that the Texas-bred Miranda once spent a whole lot of time in during their marriage. And while no one knows for sure if it was intended as shade towards Blake, there’s no doubt that it’s that little bit of Miranda sass that the fans can’t get enough of.
Oh, and the fans also really love her boots.
In fact, a few hours before the show, Miranda showed off her amazing boots in an Instagram post. “’Livin’ Like Hippies Tour’ night one,” she wrote in a Jan. 18 post. “Let’s do this Greenville, South Carolina.”
Fans immediately commented on Miranda’s footwear, saying things like, “Love me a pair of some new shiny boots” and “fringe AND bling … what more could a girl ask for?”
The boots were just a small piece of Miranda’s big look at her kickoff show, with fans on Twitter perfectly capturing her beauty in a series of pics showing off some of the cool red fringe she had going on at the Jan. 18 show.
And as always, Miranda’s sass is perfectly paired with her sweet heart on the new tour. Because at each tour stop, Miranda’s 501c3 nonprofit, MuttNation Foundation, will collect dog food, treats, supplies and cash donations for a local shelter at the “Fill the Little Red Wagon” activation, located at the entrance of each venue before the show.
In case you didn’t know, Miranda currently own eight rescue dogs, among other pets.
“I always try to combine my two passions which are music and mutts,” Miranda said in a recent press release. “I’ve gotten to meet some amazing people that run shelters in the communities where we perform, and I always love connecting with other dog-loving fans.”
Yet another reason we love her.
