She’s so petite, and yet so powerful. Maren Morris is easily one of the brightest stars shining in the country music sky.
And she most definitely lit up the stage at CMA Music Festival in June when she performed her current single, “I Could Use a Love Song.”
When she wrote “I Could Use a Love Song,” Maren says, “It was about me being in this mental state where it didn’t seem possible for me to be in love again. And so, it was that notion of hearing something that hits you right in the soul and represents what you believe it could be again. I think the most powerful love songs are the simple, real ones, very honest and that always seems to lie in country music.”
Maren must have practiced what she preached … or sang … because she’s now engaged to boyfriend and fellow singer-songwriter, Ryan Hurd.
What a big night for Maren. Prior to stepping out onto the CMA Fest stage at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium, she received the incredible news that her debut album, “Hero,” was certified platinum. Her record label team surprised her with a plaque presentation in the media room backstage.
