Country music sensation Maren Morris performed the national anthem before the New England Patriots game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 7.
The 27-year-old hit-maker, who wore a jacket featuring a vintage Patriots logo, stood on the Gillette Stadium football field amid the USS Constitution Honor Guard, which presented the nations colors.
Prior to her performance, an announcer asked fans to rise and remove their hats to honor America’s heroes. He then introduced Maren, who stunned with her signature Texan vocals.
At one point during Maren’s rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” thousands of fans could be heard singing along with her, which made her performance all the more chill-inducing.
After her rendition of the song, Maren took to Twitter to share her excitement about performing for the 2017 NFL season opener.
“Just sing. Thank you to the @Patriots for inviting me to do the craziest thing I’ve ever done,” she tweeted.
It seems Maren’s year is only getting better, as she was also recently nominated in three categories for this year’s CMA Awards, which take place Nov. 8. She is in the running for Female Vocalist of the Year, as well as Music Video of the Year and Musical Event of the Year for “Craving You” with Thomas Rhett.
