It’s a great and unfortunate example of irony: the city that houses the majority of country music’s most successful singers is also a hotbed for allergies. In fact, there is no allergy “season” in Nashville because there is always something blooming, blossoming or stirring in the air. And country stars like Luke Bryan have suffered the consequences.

But Luke may have found a cure for what ails him, at least on days that he has a concert scheduled.

The country music superstar was scheduled to perform at Jones Beach Theater in New York on August 27 when his allergies attempted to sideline him. But, like any Entertainer of the Year winner might say, “The show must go on.” And it did, but Luke was less than satisfied with his vocal performance and thought he owed his audience an explanation.

Luke tweeted out an apology to his fans saying that he gave it all he could, and noting that halfway through his show it started to get better.

But then he reveals a home remedy that may have helped him recover.

In a second tweet, Luke said, “Some days the kitchen sink won’t work. Then you just drink tequila.”
