There’s no question that Kelly Clarkson has an amazing and powerful voice. She can practically sing any genre of music, whether it’s rock, pop or even country. But when it comes to belting out ballads, she takes that power up a notch. And that’s exactly what fans get with her new single from her soulful, eighth studio album, “Meaning of Life.”

In a new post on Instagram, the 35-year-old hit-maker, who will coach on the upcoming season of NBC’s “The Voice,” announced that her next single is the gut-wrenching and empowering, “I Don’t Think About You.” She also shared some behind-the-scenes footage of her singing the deep and emotional song that touts finding the courage to walk away from a toxic relationship.

“Y’all, I’m so excited to announce the second single from ‘Meaning of Life’ is going to be ‘I Don’t Think About You,’” Kelly captioned a video post showing her singing part of the tune. “Here’s some footage of me recording the song in the studio.”

In this black and white clip, which you can see above, Kelly is shown belting it out into a studio microphone. Not only does she showcase her incredible range, but she also incorporates some beautiful runs and high notes on the track, while accompanied by the sweet sounds of piano. She then blends her soulful vocals with a whole host of incredible background singers.

Needless to say, we’re already hooked! And it looks like the fans are too.

“So happy this is a single!” one fan commented. “This song is everything! 😀”

“OMG, I am so happy you chose this one for the next single!!! My favorite. This song has gotten me through some really tough times. ❤❤❤❤❤,” another person wrote.

A third commenter added, “I’ve loved this song since the first time I heard it. I cried a lot and remembered all the things I’ve been through in relationships. Thank you @kellyclarkson.”

Aside from sharing a snippet of the song, Kelly also explained her personal connection to the ballad.

“‘I Don’t Think About You’ is the ballad that I totally could’ve written,” she said. “I had a conversation with the writers on that song … I really wanted a ballad that I could sing, but I wanted it to be emotional and I wanted it to be an empowering song.”

She continued, “Even if you’re having a hard time, I think its important to have, for me personally, that light at the end of the tunnel on these songs, and ‘I Don’t Think About You’ is basically saying, like, ‘Just so you know, I was wrecked a bit and that did deter me for a minute, but I always continue my path. I always continue to do what I love, and you didn’t stop me. You didn’t break me.’”

“I Don’t Think About You” will hit radio on Feb. 13 — one day before Valentine’s Day. So to those who want to kiss-off a former bad relationship, this song may be just right for that. “I Don’t Think About You,” which is the 11th track on “Meaning of Life,” follows Kelly’s recent singles “Love So Soft” and “Move You.”
