When it comes to outdoor performances, weather conditions can change everything.

Such was the case for country music duo Dan + Shay.

The band, made up of members Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney, were booked to perform on the main stage at the Boots & Hearts Music Festival in Canada on Aug. 11. But, it seems Mother Nature had a different plan.

Due to showers and thunderstorms, they were forced to cancel their set.

Luckily, though, Keith Urban — whose own set was delayed by two hours — stepped in with the perfect solution. He asked Dan + Shay to join him onstage to help sing his hit “Tonight I Wanna Cry,” from his 2004 studio album, “Be Here.”

His invitation, which made for a spectacular onstage moment, resulted all three stars belting out the emotional tune together. Keith also jammed out on his electric guitar during the performance.

After swapping verses on the ballad, Dan + Shay took to Twitter to express gratitude for Keith’s gesture. “When rain cancelled our show at @bootsandhearts, @keithurban, being the coolest guy in the world, invited us on stage for a few songs. Surreal every time 🙌,” they wrote.

Turns out that Dan + Shay ended up performing their entire set after all. After Keith’s show, they set up shop on the Front Porch stage and played to a packed crowd at midnight.
