Keith Urban may not be a judge on the upcoming season of “American Idol,” but he’s still got a gift for finding talent. Just check out this stunning moment from his Nashville club show on Jan. 17.

Keith performed a pop-up show at legendary rock club Exit/In to announce his new album, “Graffiti U,” as well as the “Graffiti U Tour.” That trek kicks off this June in St. Louis.

When it came time to announce his show in Nashville, Keith’s team selected super-fan Ashley Sorenson to come onstage and help Keith reveal when and where he’d be playing in Music City. They’d been watching her post about Keith all day long on her socials and wanted to make her a part of the show as a thank you.

They got a lot more than a tour date announcement, though.

It turns out Ashley is an aspiring country artist herself, currently attending Nashville’s Belmont University, the alma mater of Trisha Yearwood, Brad Paisley and Josh Turner. Keith decided to give Ashley a big opportunity by singing “Without You” with her, and Ashley — who actually suggested the song choice — was stunningly good.

Though you could tell she was overwhelmed to be singing with her hero, Ashley rose to the occasion and sounded like she’d been performing the song with Keith for years.

We can just imagine Ashley singing along to “Without You” in her car dreaming of this moment. Now, her dream has come true, but this isn’t the last we’ve heard of Ashley Sorenson.

Keith told her, “If you come to the Nashville show, we should get up and do that song together at the arena. Is that a deal? Yeah. So, make sure and keep the calendar marked out on that night. Don’t go out.”

When Ashley tried to give him back the poster revealing the Aug. 24 Nashville concert date, he told her, “Keep it. Stick it up on your wall so you don’t forget the date. Maybe write down ‘Without You’ on it as well so you can be prepared.”

One fan in the crowd yelled out asking Keith if he was going to give Ashley a ticket to the show.

He replied, “Of course I”m going to give her a ticket! I’m going to invite her whole family at this point!”

For a full list of Keith’s “Graffiti U Tour” dates, go to He’s bringing Kelsea Ballerini along for the trek, and they’re already cooking up some big surprises for fans. They turned in this cover of Camila Cabello’s pop hit “Never Be the Same” during the show.

As for Keith’s new album, “Graffiti U,” he expects to release it in the coming months. Keith told the crowd, “Very soon, I hope. I’m getting very close to finishing it.”

That project features Keith’s latest hit, “Female,” as well as the new track, “Parallel Line,” coming out Friday, Jan. 19.
