There are songs that could be hits no matter who sings them. Then there are songs that find their voice and NO one else can sing them. We thought that the Dixie Chicks catalog of hits was like that.

We were SO wrong.

Jana Kramer, who has a cry in her voice like we haven’t heard since Tammy Wynette, took on the favorite Chicks tune “Cowboy Take Me Away,” and to say she owned it is an understatement.

Sitting on a sofa with two (really great) acoustic guitar players, Jana effortlessly performs the chart topper from 2000. With no help from a producer’s bells and whistles, and zero effects or other studio razzle-dazzle, the country star’s delivery is tender and pleading, and boy, are we all in!

As great as this classic cover is, let’s not forget that the petite midwestern beauty has her own new music out. “I’ve Done Love” just hit radio late in August. It’s the first single from her third album, and we are anxiously awaiting details regarding that title and release date. From what we hear, Jana just keeps getting better.
