The temperatures outside were frigid when Cassadee Pope delivered this cover of Niall Horan’s pop hit, “Slow Hands,” earlier this month, but her performance of the steamy hit certainly turned up the heat for those in the audience.

Armed with just her acoustic guitar, Cassadee sounded better than ever singing the sultry song about a romantic encounter suddenly heating up.

She sings, “Slow hands / Like sweat dripping down our dirty laundry / No, no chance / That I’m leaving here without you on me / I, I know / Yeah, I already know that there ain’t no stoppin’ / Your plans and those slow hands.”

Cassadee’s cover is even more intriguing since it’s the first time we’ve heard a woman sing it. She’s not the first country artist to put their stamp on “Slow Hands,” though.

LANCO put a little twang into their take on the Niall Horan hit late last year. Just check out lead singer Brandon Lancaster wailing out the lyrics into a vintage-style microphone.

That’s not the end of Niall Horan’s country connection. He teamed up with Maren Morris at the CMA Awards last November for a medley of her song “I Could Use a Love Song” and his track, “Seeing Blind.”

We wouldn’t be surprised if the pop star, who first rose to fame as a member of One Direction, shows up singing with even more country artists in the future.

As for Cassadee, she’s been working hard writing and recording new music for the past few months. Fans are eagerly waiting to hear what she’s been working on, and she promises there will be plenty of depth to her new songs. Cassadee ended a long-term relationship last year, so she’s poured all of that life experience into her lyrics.

She told us last August, “I’m so excited for fans to hear not only musically where I am, but they’re going to hear a lot about my personal life in those songs. It will kind of give them an idea where I am mentally.”

Songwriting is definitely Cassadee’s preferred method for processing all of her thoughts and emotions.

“I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t write,” she said “It’s such an amazing outlet for me. I’m really lucky with all the changes going on in my life to have that outlet. I’m just taking advantage of it.”

We’re so happy to see Cassadee doing so well five years after she won NBC’s “The Voice” competition. She marked the anniversary with an Instagram post last month celebrating the show that put her on the map.

She writes to her fans, “Thank you all for changing my life the way you have. This journey wouldn’t be possible without you.”

Cassadee also pointed out that her mom almost slipped on a piece of confetti on her way to hug her after her win. She says, “Sorry mom, but the people deserve this piece of information.”
