Brad Paisley is one of the biggest stars in country music. So, there’s no question that he can easily please a crowd of thousands onstage when it’s just him and his guitar. But during a recent sold-out show on his “Weekend Warriors World Tour,” the guitar wiz took a back seat to an adorable little boy who completely lit up the stage.

It all happened on Jan. 27 at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona. During his set, Brad, who was armed with an electric guitar, welcomed 9-year-old Vedder Gabriel to the stage, and handed the kid a microphone while he tuned up his instrument.

“I love your music,” Vedder adorably proclaimed of Brad’s work, delighting the already roaring crowd waiting to see what would happen next.

That’s when Brad took a knee to reach Vedder’s height and began to play the opening notes to his nostalgic 2017 song, “Last Time for Everything.” And Vedder, without hesitation, owned the spotlight by confidently belting out all of the song lyrics that recount some of life’s most memorable moments.

“Using a fake ID at a college bar / Getting caught with a girl in the backseat of a car / Running out on the field for the senior game wearing number 17 / There’s a last time for everything,” Vedder sang, as if he’d already experienced all of the reminisce-worthy moments in the tune.

And even though Brad and Vedder’s mini onstage duet was enough to make hearts melt, the moment didn’t stop there. Once they finished their performance, Vedder told Brad, “Thanks man.” Brad responded, “Wait, don’t leave,” than handed Vedder his electric guitar and joked, “You better … learn some more songs so I don’t have to do this anymore.” Brad also signed Vedder’s new keepsake before the excited young boy returned to his parents.
