As the beautiful Mandy Harvey walked onto the stage of “America’s Got Talent” on September 19 for her final shot to win the whole show against fellow vocalists Angelica Hale, Chase Goehring and Evie Clair, she could have come out with some blockbuster and powerful performance with strobe lights and high notes.

Or she could remain herself – a beautiful human being who, despite losing her hearing 10 years ago due to a connective tissue disorder, has a way of delivering a simple song in a powerful way, without all the hoopla that so many other artists seem to need these days.

And Mandy did just that, as she grabbed her ukulele and sang her original song “This Time.” And when she finished, the crowd and judges — Simon Cowell, Mel B., Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel — all signed back to her in adoration.

“There’s really not much you can do if you stay on the ground,” the Golden Buzzer finalist told host Tyra Banks about a moment in her life where she almost gave up after falling down the stairs years ago. “Time will pass you by, life will pass you by. I just didn’t want to give up.”

And thank God she didn’t.
