Team Miley’s Ashland Craft competed against 11 other contestants during “The Voice” live shows on Nov. 20, and proved exactly why she belongs in the Top 12. The 21-year-old small town gal with the big country voice performed a delightful cover of Tanya Tucker’s 1972 hit “Delta Dawn.”
Appearing onstage as the fifth performer of the night, Ashland nailed the first few lines of the song with her classic raspy voice, while armed with her acoustic guitar. She then tossed her instrument aside and strutted down the staircase to flaunt her confidence and country sass a little bit closer to the panel of coaches.
“I am just so happy for you. I’m so happy to see you just own the stage, believe in yourself the way we all believe in you,” said coach Jennifer Hudson, a self-proclaimed Ashland fan.
“I think this is your second biggest fan,” coach Miley Cyrus added, referring to Jennifer. “I’m No. 1, and J-Hud has always said [from] the beginning that she thinks you are a star, and that’s what you did tonight. You showed that star power, that lane that you can fill.”
Even though both Miley and Jennifer had nothing but nice remarks about Ashland’s performance, its not up to them to put the singer through to the next round. This time, the fans get to choose who will move forward in the compeition. Voting closes Tuesday, Nov. 21 at noon. For more information on voting visit nbc.com.
