Zac Brown Band takes over the Saturday Night Live stage with new music

Zac Brown Band is back.

With their performance on the March 7 episode of “Saturday Night Live,” Zac Brown Band reminded everyone watching that 2015 just might end up being their best year yet. It was the first time the wildly popular band took the stage at “Saturday Night Live,” and their new single “Homegrown” sounded wonderful. Look for it to be one of summer’s most popular sing-a-long songs very soon.

The second song was a whole different story, as the group tore into the song “Heavy is the Head”, with Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell taking the lead until Zac and a bevy of electric guitars took charge again. No, it didn’t sound country. It was inventive, exciting and completely enticing.

Both songs more than showed the dynamic musicianship of the talented artists that make up ZBB, including violinist/singer Jimmy De Martini, multi-instrumentalist/singer John Driskell Hopkins, guitarist/organist Coy Bowles, multi-instrumentalist/singer Clay Cook, drummer Chris Fryar, percussionist Daniel de los Reyes and bassist Matt Mangano.

All we can say is this: April 28th can’t come soon enough.
