Yes, much-loved country music duo Joey + Rory have always had a way of looking at the bright side of things, especially when the two received news earlier this year that Joey had Stage IV cervical cancer.
But the fight has been a struggle.
And the fight has been tough.
Yet, a bit of that fight is now through.
After five weeks of chemo and radiation, Joey was able to finally celebrate a milestone — her last day of radiation from the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Atlanta. Her devoted team of doctors and nurses and health clinicians all greeted Rory as she walked out the doors of the center, ringing a bell to signal that a bit of her cancer journey was now complete.
But the fight is far from over.
“Though we will continue to come back here for more, even stronger, chemo treatments that Joey will get in the coming months … all of her radiation treatments are completed and that’s what Joey got to celebrate today,” Rory said in his heartwarming blog.
“The smile, the tears, and especially the joy on her face said it all. Thank you Lord for this milestone. Thank you. Thank you.”
Let’s say it one more time, Rory.
