You’ll be amazed with Scotty McCreery’s plan to keep “American Idol” alive for the fans Rare Country

Scotty McCreery is just one of many “American Idol” alumni coming back to perform on the show’s season finale on the night of Thursday, April 7.

“There’s like 50 to 60 different “Idol” contestants coming back,” Scotty tells Rare Country. “I think all the Idols are coming back. It’s gonna be a fun night. We got some different performances. Different sets of performances. Different surprises that I don’t think anyone is really expecting.”

Just like all of his fellow “Idol” champs, Scotty is feeling bittersweet about the show coming to a close. In fact, he could see “American Idol” coming back in some form in a few years.

Scotty explains, “I’d like to see [“Idol”] like the Olympics. Come back every four years or something. Now, that’d be really special. Give the talent pool a little time to get up there.”

Should that idea actually come to pass, Scotty says he’ll be calling up some of the executives who run “Idol.”

He says with a laugh, “I wanna be paid on that idea! Just kiddin’.”
