You just can’t make this stuff up.

Fresh off their Merle Haggard tribute at the American Country Countdown Awards in Los Angeles on May 1, Toby Keith and Merle’s son, Ben Haggard, hit up a Mexican restaurant. The place just happened to have a karaoke machine, and we’re so glad they did.

Toby Keith took over singing karaoke to deliver a jaw-dropping performance of Kenny Rogers’ hit “Lady,” which was written by Lionel Richie. An unidentified guy in a suit sings with Toby, but he’s much shorter than the country superstar. That’s no problem, though. The guy just pulls up a chair and stands on it next to Toby in order to share the same microphone.

Lucky for us, Ben captured it all on Instagram, calling the whole thing, “Seriously a night to remember.”

Now, somebody find that guy singing with Toby and sign him to a record deal! We seriously need to hear more from him.
