Reba McEntire’s former home near Nashville may soon be made over as an event space for weddings, corporate retreats and charity events. The place boasts 12,816 square feet of living space, as well as a pool and landscaped grounds looking out onto Old Hickory Lake in Wilson County, Tennessee.
According to “The Tennessean,” the unnamed buyer is seeking approval from the county’s planning department to open the home up for rentals. A local surveyor says the property won’t need major renovations.
That’s exciting news for Reba fans who might want to plan a “Forever Love”-themed wedding or a “Fancy” fundraiser for their charity.
If the deal goes through, this wouldn’t be the first time a country star’s home has been made over into a public venue. Barbara Mandrell’s former Nashville mansion, Fontanel, has been available for weddings and other events for many years now.
Reba sold the property, which included 83 total acres of land, last July for a reported $5 million to Paul H. Burch. The parcel with the house was then re-sold along with 13 acres to the unnamed buyer. Another 17 acres of the property has been rezoned to accommodate the building of 15 individual homes.
