There is a bit of an expectation that when an entertainer becomes successful, they will move to a high dollar mansion that is pimped out to a level that can be described with words like “opulent” or “austere.” Often it’s because the décor has been turned over to a professional decorator who may have missed the mark a bit on the star’s taste. So, it’s always nice to peek inside a country star’s home and see that it is more warm and welcoming than sterile and formal.

Being a homeowner is as new to Kelsea Ballerini as being country music’s hottest up-and-comer, but she managed to work with a great design and decorating team that perfectly captured her “southern but sophisticated” wishes and also created a space that reflected her friendly, fun personality and love of music.

People.com took fans of the “Peter Pan” singer into her new townhouse and if this doesn’t look like a place you can kick up your feet (shoes off, of course), sip a glass of wine and laugh until your ribs hurt, then we don’t know what is!

Working with design team Laurel & Wolf, Kelsea blended simple and rustic pieces that reflect her East Tennessee roots with clean, contemporary accents that suit her youthful energy. Her love of and career in music is represented by artwork in her kitchen and actual instruments in her music room. Makes sense, right?

But that closet, that closet! Girl alert! Beautiful, bold and fun flowers line the walls behind the clothing racks that keep everyday, stage and formal attire perfectly organized. She even showcases a special “hand-me-down” gift from her Lady Antebellum gal pal Hillary Scott on a dressmaker’s mannequin as a place of honor. And the full walk-in closet has enough room for a work space and seating area. She tells People, “I had some girls over the other night and we walked into the house, got a glass of wine, and just sat on the floor of my closet.”

Laurel & Wolf previously helped Kelsea design her first Nashville apartment, which you can check out in this video:
