Willie Nelson just teamed up with The Muppets for the sweetest show finale ever YouTube

On March 1, ABC’s “The Muppets” wrapped up its first season with a two-episode finale titled “Generally Inhospitable” and “Because…Love.” While we all love the show’s celebrity guest-star appearances, Willie Nelson just makes it that much sweeter.

After Miss Piggy slips during a Beyoncé “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on it)” dance rehearsal for her “Up Late” TV Show, she is rushed to the hospital, leaving Kermit and the rest of gang scrambling to get the show in order. Despite the Piggy emergency, which she considers heroic, Kermit comes up with a genius plan to have the host broadcast “Up Late” from her hospital bedroom.

As luck would have it, Willie’s able to come straight to the hospital to serenade the disabled diva.

“Now a man coming up to visit, even though they wouldn’t validate his parking! Please welcome Mr. Willie Nelson,” says Piggy regarding Willie’s entrance.

Then the outlaw, joined by The Electric Mayhem, launches into “On the Road Again.” Of course, the whole hospital staff couldn’t help but boogie, and the emergency scare has Piggy and Kermit thinking about rekindling their romance.

This isn’t the first time Willie has sang with The Muppets. In fact, he sang the same exact song with them back in 1989 on an episode of “Jim Henson Hour.”

Now, how’s that for a bittersweet send-off?
