Who was the mystery man Reba McEntire and Martina McBride fought over last night? YouTube/Screenshot

Reba McEntire has sung “Does He Love You” thousands of times since it came out in 1993, but you’ve never seen her have as much fun with the hit as she did singing it with Martina McBride Wednesday night at a benefit concert at Nashville’s City Winery.

During the performance, McEntire and McBride brought up their friend, music executive Shane Tarleton, to sit on a stool in between them, and they went on to make suggestive moves towards him and sneer at each other to win his attention. Seeing these two leading ladies of country stage a catfight to rival anything you might see on a daytime soap opera had everyone in the audience in stitches.

Tarleton — who comes up with the videos and album artwork for guys like Blake Shelton and Brett Eldredge — was being honored for his work with Musicians on Call, an organization that brings music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities.

Before that performance of “Does He Love You,” McEntire reached deep into her catalog to deliver her mid-‘80s hits “How Blue,” “Somebody Should Leave” and “One Promise Too Late.” McBride also pulled out her lesser-known singles “Wrong Again” and “That’s Me” as well as “I’m Gonna Love You Through It” and “Blessed.”

Kelsea Ballerini was also on hand to perform a few songs for the crowd, and Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood were spotted in the audience.
