Who could forget that time that Carrie Underwood found herself in the Super Bowl spotlight?

It was 2006 and country megastar Carrie Underwood was just coming off her 2005 American Idol win when she stepped onto the country’s biggest stage and delivered a rendition of the National Anthem fit for a Super Bowl.

And she is about to do it again.

While she won’t be singing the National Anthem this year, she is set to sing a brand new rendition of “Waiting All Day for a Super Bowl Fight” before NBC’s broadcast of Super Bowl XLIX on February 1st.   “I’m so honored to again be a part of the Super Bowl, this time joining NBC Sports in helping kick everything off,” explained Underwood in a press release. “I can’t wait to watch the game!”

The song will feature new elements, new lyrics and a special set design. But will it include some new visions of a pregnant Carrie? We will have to wait to see….

For the past two football seasons, Underwood has begun each “Sunday Night Football” broadcast performing “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night.”

And before Underwood took the reins, who could forget this Sunday Night Football theme song from a certain Ms. Faith Hill!
