Miley Cyrus takes her job as a coach on “The Voice” very seriously. She really cares about the up-and-coming singers she chooses for her team, and her latest act of charity is proof of that fact.
“The Voice” season 13 hopeful Janice Freeman was a member of Miley’s team, but she’d recently hit a rough patch. It seems Janice and her family were searching for permanent housing, and Miley stepped in to help them get on their feet.
Janice took to Instagram to reveal Miley’s act of generosity. In a series of Stories, Janice said Miley paid the security deposit and first six months’ rent on a two-bedroom apartment for them. The stories were reposted on The Jasmine Brand’s Instagram account.
An emotional Janice says “Miley, you are my dawg, like, my best friend, and I will defend you to the bitter end. This woman blessed me to be able to move in. Do you understand? What she don’t know is, I’ve been praying for her.”
Janice goes on to say that she is “overwhelmed” with Miley’s generosity.
“I need y’all to understand that it is time to go into 2018 believing God for real,” Janice continues. “Y’all don’t understand that you see these people on TV. You see things happening and all of that. But you don’t understand that these people are real. And her heart is so huge. And she allows God to use her to bless my life.”
The spiritual connection between Miley and Janice was apparent during this past season of “The Voice.” In this shot, you can see the two of them smiling for the camera. Janice’s caption says, “To know this woman believes does my heart good.”
Fans have loved that Miley didn’t say a word about her own charitable act. One commenter says, “I appreciate the fact that Miley wasn’t out here making an announcement. She did it from her heart. God bless her.” Another fan said, “They don’t give Miley enough credit for all the charity work she does for our actual communities!”
Here’s hoping this isn’t the last we’ve seen of Janice and Miley together.
They certainly got everyone’s attention in their leopard print outfits performing Shania Twain’s “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” with the rest of their team this year. Even Shania was a fan. She wrote on Twitter, “You rocked that leopard print, girls.”
