One of the coolest pieces of Kelly Clarkson’s personality is how she is so genuine in everything she does. Despite being a big-time music superstar, she is not afraid to show the world that she is just like the rest of us.
She makes mistakes. She goes out without a full of face of makeup. And when the Rare Country Awards nominee for female artist of the year hears she has been nominated for a Grammy, she is genuinely excited.
This excitement can be seen firsthand in this video, as she was visiting the SiriusXM’s Morning Mash Up team on the same day the Grammy nominations were announced. During her interview, the show’s host, Christian Zamora, spilled the beans that Kelly was nominated for a Grammy for her version of “Piece by Piece” on the “American Idol” stage earlier this year, pitting her up against Adele’s “Hello,” Beyoncé’s “Hold Up,” Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself” and Ariana Grande’s “Dangerous Woman.”
Christian shared the priceless moment on his Twitter page.
At first, it looks as if she doesn’t have the faintest idea what she could have been nominated for, but then it seems to dawn on her that it was for the “American Idol” performance of the tearjerker of a song.
“You just have to cry on national television,” she laughed. “Apparently people are into that.”
