Little Big Town has released hit songs like “Boondocks,” “Pontoon” and “Girl Crush” during their career, but they’ve also mastered a handful of cover songs, too.

Back in 2011, the country group launched their own webisode series called “Scattered, Smothered and Covered.” On it, they channeled a bunch of hits, including “I Want You Back” by the Jackson 5.

In this clip, the members are led by a quick countdown before launching into the 1969 Motown classic. Along with a couple of back-up musicians, the quartet transforms tween Michael Jackson’s No. 1 song into an acoustic jam. Kimberly Schlapman takes on the lead as the rest of the gang claps along.

Camping on a bar stool, Kimberly isn’t afraid to show off her soprano vocals with some resonating high notes. But by the time Little Big Town hits the chorus, we get a taste of their undeniable vocal chemistry, and it’s clear they can sing just about any tune regardless of it’s genre.

And they seem pretty comfortable when they break into laughter at the end, too.

More recently, Little Big Town spun a song that was not a part of that series. During a recent tour stop they tackled Prince’s “When Doves Cry” for a Montana crowd.
