Watching Alan Jackson water-ski in a cowboy hat just screams summer to us YouTube screenshot
Alan Jackson / Chattahoochee

You never thought you’d see a shirtless Alan Jackson — but here is that lanky Georgia boy in all his glory.

OK, so he’s not entirely shirtless, since he does have on a life vest, but hey, safety first!

From Alan water-skiing in his blue jeans and cowboy hat to the summer love story these kids play out, everything about the video for the country superstar’s monster hit “Chattahoochee” screams summer. Even without the video, the beat and the rat-a-tat-tat of the guitar alone almost force you to roll your windows down and turn the radio up.

And while some songs come and go, and others become memories, this one has long remained a summertime staple for country music fans everywhere.

Some might say it’s hard to believe this song is over 20 years old now (it was released in May of 1993), but we disagree. In fact, that might be one thing that makes this song even cooler because, even after listening to it for nearly a quarter of a century, it STILL speaks of summer and gets our blood flowing just as much as it did the first time we heard it.
