With more and more artists creating tours that feature several great acts on one bill, we’re seeing more and more opportunities for incredible live collaborations as an encore at the end of the evening’s show.

Miranda Lambert is certainly pulling out her openers and support acts to create one of those once-in-a-lifetime moments for fans, but the audience at her Aug. 21 show in Bangor, Maine got an even bigger surprise when she pulled someone from behind the curtains to join her, along with her openers Kip Moore and Brothers Osborne for the show’s finale.

As her killer band cues up the opening measures of “Me and Bobby McGee,” Ran steps up to the mic and tells them, “Hold on. We’re missing a singer.” She then steps off stage and comes back holding the hand of her boyfriend, Anderson East.

Anderson looks happy enough just to be standing next to his beautiful lady, but when it comes to stepping up to the mic and taking a line of the song, he’s a little more apprehensive, but he doesn’t look nervous. In fact, his apprehension looks more like he’s respecting the stage that belongs to the artists who performed that night. Of course, we can’t speak for Anderson, but we can applaud him for keeping Miranda in the spotlight and still giving us a peek at the relationship we’re all so curious about.

A peek at Anderson’s tour schedule gives us a hint as to why Miranda brought her fella on stage… you know, besides the fact that she really digs him. He’s gone for a European leg on his own tour for two weeks. He will then return before Miranda finishes touring, though, so if you have tickets for one of her September dates, you may still catch a glimpse of this sweet couple.
