Country stars have long been covering tunes by other artists, but rarely do we ever catch them stopping in the middle of a song because they think they bombed a performance — until now.
During a March 18 concert in Wilkes-Barre, Penn., Blake Shelton pulled the plug during his rendition of Easton Corbin’s No. 1 hit, “Roll With It.”
“Stop, stop, stop. I’m sorry…this is embarrassing. It was in a different key when we did it today,” he said to his band after beginning the chorus.
While it appeared that the “Came Here To Forget” singer seemed to know the lyrics, it was clear that he forgot the key.
“That’s too high for me,” he said.
Of course, Blake has a knack for surprising his fans!
“You actually know what would be better?” he asked his guitarist amongst a packed and rowdy crowd. “Better than me standing up here singing “Roll With It” by Easton Corbin? What would be better is if Easton Corbin came out here and sang “Roll With It!””
Easton then runs out onstage and finishes out the song with his low baritone pipes. The audience just couldn’t get enough of it.
“I told you this wasn’t going to be like any other night,” said Blake.
