Chase Bryant is country’s coolest chameleon.
Ever since the Texas native took the country music industry by storm with hits such as “Little Bit of You” and “Take It On Back,” Chase has become a master at changing his look and music at just the right time.
And his latest song and video is the perfect example of it.
“The video treatment was kind of my idea,” admits Chase during a recent interview with Rare Country about “Room to Breathe.” “One day I was sitting in my bus eating dinner and I started watching ‘Casino Royale,’ and I just started getting a plethora of ideas float around in my head about how we could do a video that truly matched the song.”
The self-proclaimed “James Bond die-hard fan” got busy expressing his ideas with video director Jeff Johnson and gave Chase his first stab at both acting and screenwriting. “My true fans know that I’m always changing direction,” said Chase. “This song is a little outside of the pocket for me and [this video] got steamy and more action-packed than I had originally thought. But the response to it has already been really cool.”
Chase comes from a long line of musical men, including his grandfather, who once played with Roy Orbison, and his uncles, who co-founded the group Ricochet. “They all taught me to be humble about all of this,” Chase says. “I think about their advice with every career decision I make.”
So what would his Grandpa think of this sexy video?
“He would have laughed,” Chase chuckles. “But then, he would love it.”
