Rascal Flatts appeared on the Grand Ole Opry stage on April 19 to perform their chart-topping hit “I Like The Sound Of That.”

But beforehand, lead vocalist Gary LeVox made sure to give fans a nod of appreciation.

“Y’all, thank you so much for making this the No. 1 song in country music right now. We’re thrilled, honored and blessed,” he said.

Blending their harmonies for the first few lyrics of the catchy tune, the trio, made up of Gary, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney, made no mistake to wow their audience. In fact, they even had them singing along to every word. Jay also plunked a few notes on his hot-red keyboard, while Gary hit some impressive high ones with his voice.

Released in 2015 off of the groups “Rewind” album, “I Like The Sound Of That” was co-penned by a different trio of talented individuals — Jesse Frasure, Meghan Trainor and Dan + Shay’s Shay Mooney.

While Rascal Flatts recently completed their Vegas residency, they do plan on taking the road this summer for their 2016 Rhythm and Roots Tour. Country newcomers Kelsea Ballerini and Chris Lane will join as openers on the trek.

Aside from performing their No. 1 track that night at the Opry, Rascal Flatts had a bit too much fun. Giving Kelsea — who was also at that show — a preview of what life will be like when she teams up with the country three, they crowded around her decked out in blonde wigs backstage.
