If you are going to watch another artist perform from the side of the stage, you better pay attention.
Well, someone probably should have told Luke Bryan that.
Luke got quite a lesson courtesy of Kenny Chesney a few years back. As he normally does, Kenny and his band went into a medley of cover songs, including Steve Miller Band’s huge hit “The Joker.” Motioning to Billy Currington and Luke, who were watching from the side of the stage, the two joined Kenny to help him sing along.
That’s where it all went hilariously wrong.
He was either incredibly nervous or just not paying attention, but Luke fumbled miserably. In his defense, he did try to deflect when Kenny offered the mic, but Chesney was having none of that. So Luke took the mic and broke into verse, just not the one the band was playing.
“People call me the space coww…did you just sing that?” Luke asks as Chesney busts up laughing.
Taking the mic back and trying to get the “Huntin’, Fishin’ And Lovin’ Every Day” singer back on track, he even asks him “…you got it now?”
But, he still didn’t.
