As if Vegas wasn’t already exciting enough on Sept. 9, that excitement was amplified by about infinity, at least for country music fans and smart people. That’s when George Strait returned to the T-Mobile Arena for his first weekend of shows since April. And if anyone was concerned about the time off affecting George’s vocals or energy level, oh please.

For those who were unable to attend the show, fan-shot videos prove that the Texas country star was just as energetic, engaging and entertaining as ever. And even though he could peel off hit after hit all night and no one would budge from their seat, George brought out a few guests to keep things lively.

Hit songwriter Dean Dillon took the circle stage with The King. Dean was a co-writer on some of George’s biggest hits like “Unwound,” “The Chair,” “Ocean Front Property,” “Marina del Rey” and “If I Know Me.” The two have been longtime friends as well.

Kacey Musgraves also stepped onstage with George. The fellow Texan serves as George’s opening act on this Vegas run, and while she is a consummate professional, she could hardly take her eyes off of her duet partner. We don’t blame her one bit, but Kacey was equally as magnetic. Dressed in a sexy and sparkly black suit, Kacey and George’s evening collaborations included “I Just Want to Dance With You” and “Drive.”

If you missed George in Vegas this weekend, don’t worry. He’ll be back in December for another weekend of great shows and, hopefully, he’s here for a long time and a good time.
