Garth Brooks has a new backup singer in his band, but they’ve actually been singing together since 1996.
On July 28, Garth’s daughter, Allie Colleen, took her place in between Garth’s backup singers during his show at the Forum in Los Angeles. In true Garth fashion, he didn’t bring a lot of attention to his daughter before he introduced her. She simply joined him onstage as one of the band for most of the show.
Then came the band introductions. When he introduced Allie, he also mentioned it was her 21st birthday. Garth led the star-studded audience in singing “Happy Birthday” to his baby girl, and the moment got both father and daughter pretty emotional. You can see Allie tearing up in the video from the show.
Allie’s new gig with her dad comes on the heels of her playing shows around Nashville. She’s been attending her bonus mom Trisha Yearwood’s alma mater, Belmont University, and posting solo performances on her Facebook page.
What a cool shot in the arm for Allie’s music career!
As for the audience at the show, we spotted several stars singing along to every word of Garth’s songs. Nick and Joe Jonas had a brothers’ night out, and “Modern Family” star Eric Stonestreet enjoyed quite the full-circle moment at the show. Before he became a star, Eric worked security at one of Garth’s concerts in Kansas back in the day. Flip through the Instagram post below to check out photos of Eric having Garth sign photos from that concert, and video of Eric enjoying the L.A. show.
In 1995 I worked security for A (ONE) Garth Brooks concert in Manhattan Ks. Last night I finally got to say you're welcome for keeping him safe that night and basically giving him the wonderful career he's had thus far. Thank you Garth for the amazing night I had with my #crew slash #squad ❤️#circles
We also saw reports that A-list actor Bradley Cooper was in the crowd for the Saturday night show, too.
