Brantley Gilbert has proven time and time again he’ll go to any length to help our U.S. veterans, and now he’s literally sweating for the cause.
Brantley has taken on the 22 Kill organization‘s challenge to do 22 pushups for 22 straight days in an effort to raise awareness of the estimated 22 veterans who are lost to suicide every day.
In this clip, you can see Brantley carrying out the pushups challenge on his tour bus. He clearly has the upper-body strength to easily pull it off.
Brantley has now passed the 22 pushups challenge on to his fans, also known as “The BG Nation.” We have a feeling they’ll be sending in some pretty creative pushup videos really soon.
As for the 22 Kill movement, the organization was founded to bring awareness to the mental health issues affecting veterans. Brantley has long been a vocal advocate for our veterans. In 2015, he even headlined a benefit concert for the families of those five service members lost in an attack on a military recruitment center in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Brantley has held multiple motorcycle rides to benefit our troops. All of Brantley’s efforts recently led one veteran to give his Purple Heart medal to the singer as a thank you for his support. See the tearful exchange here.
