Watch as rising country star Chris Stapleton gets some well deserved accolades

Rising country star Chris Stapleton made his late night television debut the night before his birthday, but it looks like David Letterman and the rest of the country were the ones really getting the present.

“Oh my gosh.”

Those were just some of the words that the late night talk show host had for Stapleton and his wife Morgane as they concluded an amazing performance on the “Late Show with David Letterman” on April 14 of the single “Traveller” off Chris Stapleton’s debut album (set for release on May 5) of the same name.

“This record was made standing on the shoulders of friends, family, and heroes,” Stapleton said in a recent press release. “I hope people enjoy listening to it as much as I’ve enjoyed making it.”

It’s part of a big week for Stapleton, who is also up for Song of the Year at this year’s ACM Awards as a co-writer on Luke Bryan’s heart wrenching hit “Drink a Beer.” Following that, Stapleton will headline a couple of shows in Nashville before embarking on “The Outsiders World Tour” with Eric Church in May.
