Jason Aldean has long been a guy who often hides behind the rim of his cowboy hat, seldom showing much emotion about anything other than his music.

Yet, in October 2016, Jason showed off his true heart of gold.

During his last tour stop of the year, Jason was busy delighting thousands in the audience when he noticed an adorable 3-year-old boy named Trey in the audience. According to an interview with Trey’s father, the concert was actually the little one’s birthday present.

“We asked him what kind of toys he wanted, but he didn’t care too much about that,” Trey’s father told WMZQ-FM. “All he wanted to do was go to a Jason [Aldean] concert and meet him. I knew that if Jason saw him and saw how enthusiastic he is about his music that he would get the chance to meet him.”

And that’s exactly what happened as soon as Jason spotted the little boy. “He said ‘come here big guy,” Trey said that’s what Jason told him as he brought him onstage. “He signed my cowboy hat. I’m going to keep it in my room.”
