Country stars love their fans. All you have to do is watch an award show or read an album’s liner notes where they are always thanked. Or you can attend CMA Music Festival and see for yourself the amazing relationship that country stars have with their fans.

And when it comes to taking that relationship up a notch or maybe even 10 notches, Jake Owen is arguably the best there is.

In the past, Jake has selected fans from his social media channels to come to the lake with him for a day of skiing on his boat or to go to a movie theater with him (and yes, he bought everyone’s movie ticket, along with soft drinks and popcorn.) He even invites fans to meet him for drinks or visit with him out on the road.

Remember that notch? Well, it just went up to 11.

It started on July 7 on his Twitter page when Jake asked if anyone would want to take a spontaneous bus trip with him. Twitter follower David West replied “yes” and Jake said “let’s go!”

Now, David and a friend are headed to the Hodag Country Festival in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. In a hilarious (of course) Facebook Live video, Jake called David from his record label office to make it official. He also mentioned that this might not be the only opportunity fans have for a ride-along to a tour stop, so keep an eye on Jake’s Twitter feed for future announcements.

While some country artists have mentioned increasing their security in the wake of the senseless murder of “The Voice” contestant Christina Grimmie in June, Jake is going the extra mile to prove that, for him, things are status quo. And it’s quite a big deal to be invited to travel on an artist’s bus, considering that is their home away from home.

The Hodag Country Festival kicked off July 7 and, in addition to Jake, performers include Thomas Rhett, Chris Janson, Cam and Brothers Osborne.

By the way, Jake’s bus to Rhindelander pulled out today – and it’s cheese curds for everybody!
