Reaching a big milestone in your life is always satisfying, but having your pals by your side to help you celebrate makes the moment even sweeter.

That’s what happened when Luke Bryan surprised his friend and tour mate Randy Houser onstage with a gold plaque celebrating the big success of Houser’s CMA-nominated hit, “Like a Cowboy.”  Their tour mate Dustin Lynch was also on hand for the big presentation, and it’s all captured in a brand-new video.

You can tell Houser is pumped about the good news as he goes on to absolutely slay “Like a Cowboy” during the acoustic section of Bryan’s headlining set. The commanding performance will make you wonder exactly why Houser was left out of the Male Vocalist of the Year category at this year’s CMA Awards?

At least Houser is up for Song of the Year for co-writing “Like a Cowboy” with his friend Brice Long. You can tune in to see if Houser walks away with that prestigious trophy on the 49th Annual CMA Awards coming up Wednesday, Nov. 4 on ABC.
