We already adore Alan Jackson here in the United States, but our country-loving brothers and sisters in Australia are also showing A.J. some big love lately.

The CMC Awards were handed out in Brisbane this week. Pollstar reports that Alan’s latest album, “Angels and Alcohol,” was honored with the Highest-Selling International Album trophy at the event.

Alan said in response, “You’ve been good to me down there, and I appreciate the CMC Award.”

As you can see from this performance of “Drive” at the CMC Rocks festival a few years ago, Alan has won Australia over with his easygoing charm on hits like “Small Town Southern Man.” So far, Alan has done two arena tours Down Under with about 90,000 fans catching the shows.

Alan has been celebrating his 25th anniversary as a country star with tours and special appearances in the last year or so. Word around Nashville is that he’s got a good shot at earning a spot in the Country Music Hall of Fame when the 2016 inductees are announced later this month.
